What Is The Obtainium Cup?

It is a human-powered sculptural vehicle rally and festival on historic Mare Island! It takes place on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 11am – 6pm. Inspired by the Kinetic Grand Championship art vehicle road rally, the Obtainium Cup is a one-day event perfect for individuals and families, and will highlight the waterfront of Mare Island in Vallejo, CA.

PROMOTING LOCAL ARTISTS

This event promotes a number of Vallejo artists including Obtainium Works, a world famous art car factory (best known for the “Neverwas Haul” steampunk Victorian House on Wheels), the Mare Island Art Studio, Nightmare Island, (a local Haunted Halloween venue), and the Flaming Lotus Girls (respected Burning Man fire arts group)

VENDORS, FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT

This event features a Steampunk-themed Festival complete with crafts vendors, food trucks, a Beer and Wine Garden, plus live and DJ music.

ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION

This event usually attracts 300-400 visitors and includes 30 participants driving decorated human powered and pedal powered vehicles and bicycles, and disability scooters.
